5 Year Memorial - Vincent

Five years ago today, our world changed forever when we lost Vincent.  It’s hard to believe that I haven’t spoken to him in 5 years.  In some ways, it feels like a few months have gone by, in other ways, it feels like a very long time.  Over the years, we have learned that grief isn’t something that you “get over” but is something that is always with you.  You just learn to manage it.

Five years ago today, our world changed forever when we lost Vincent. We lost a terrific person far too soon, simply because he wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

Reaching this five-year memorial, we spend today remembering his warmth, his laugh, and the incredible light he brought into our lives. But we just wish that things had gone differently that day. To turn this profound heartbreak into something meaningful, we are dedicating his memory to a lasting mission through the Vincent R. Gagliardi Foundation.

Honoring Vincent’s Story: Loving Vincent means celebrating the immense joy he gave us, while also acknowledging the harsh reality of how he was taken from us.

  • The Danger of Reckless Decisions: Speeding, distractions, and reckless driving can change or end a life in an instant. Vincent's loss is a stark reminder of the serious responsibility that comes with being behind the wheel.

  • The Power of a Second: It takes only a single second to buckle up. Five years later, the ultimate tribute we can pay to his memory is ensuring that others understand just how precious and fragile life truly is.

  • Turning Loss into Protection: Through the Vincent R. Gagliardi Foundation, we are turning our personal loss into community protection—advocating for safe driving habits so no other family has to experience this empty space.

We honor Vincent today not just by mourning his absence, but by carrying Vincent’s legacy forward.

If you are missing Vincent deeply today, please honor his memory by practicing and sharing driver safety. Remind your kids, your friends, and your neighbors that seat belts save lives—every single trip, without exception. We hold Vincent close in our hearts today, and we move forward through the foundation to make sure everyone else makes it home safe.
